Simon, all the money that you and the lucky bidders raise from the auction of your latest block buster “The Emperors Exile” will support the exceptionally resilient staff as they deliver exceptional health care in such a harsh and challenging environment. Without your support we wouldn’t have made such a transformative impact in Bansang or its 26 rural health clinics and catchment of 600,000 people that it serves.
The former British High Commissioner Sharon Wardle finished her term in office earlier than expected due to C-19. She cited “Bansang Hospital Appeal as being one of the best examples of UK-Gambia collaboration that has put the needs of some of the most vulnerable communities in the country at the heart of what we do”. So nice to have that recognition, and to be able to say thank you to you all for your generosity. During these troubled times I am pleased that Bansang can stand as a testament to the beautiful things we achieve when we stand in solidarity with those who need our help. THANK YOU. Good luck with the bidding.

The amazing Anita Smith! (And to the left, my oldest son, Joe, who spent a couple of months working at the hospital before joining the army).
